This too, shall pass.

God is in control. I am not.

It’s weird how I know this fact, yet I consistently fight it. Weirder still, I like it this way, yet it seems like i am always fighting it.

It seems my sinful nature sometimes gets the best of me.

Jesus will put us in impossible situations to remind us that He is not limited by our limitations… We all have questions we are wrestling with and a God who tells us He is enough— this is a constant tension. If we pray for what we want and trust God yet nothing changes, what does that mean? Peace is a person; Jesus is peace. Jesus did not come to bring us what we need but to tell us He is what we need.

a few good reminders for the week

1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety  on Him because He CARES for you.

Psalm 55:22
Cast all your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.

Isaiah 41:13
For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, DO NOT FEAR; I will help you.

Matthew 6:25
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Matthew 11:28-29
Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about ANYTHING, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
